Winter flowers that bloom in cold weather

If you're looking to brighten up your home and garden with flowers this winter, there are plenty of options that would not freeze in the cold weather. Today we want to talk about a long-time favorite Pansies.

Colorful pansies

Pansies

Pansies have heart-shaped, overlapping petals and one of the widest ranges of bright, pretty colors and patterns. They're easy to grow and don't need a lot of maintenance either. In addition to being pretty colorful, they can survive drought conditions.

Pansies come in a wide variety of colors and sizes—you'll find them pink, purple, white, and yellow—so there's sure to be one (or more) that's perfect for your garden!

Even in the winter months, you can have bright and cheery flowers blooming in your yard or garden.

Planting flowers is a great way to add some color to your outdoor space this time of year. It's not too late to plant flowers! Here are some tips for planting them:

  • Make sure the soil is loose and well-drained before planting. If it's too compacted, loosen it up with a shovel first.

  • Water your plants every other day until they're established (about 3 weeks). After that point, watering should be less frequent as long as you've got enough rainwater or another source of moisture nearby (like an irrigation system)

There you have it! Pansies are a great choice for winter flowers. You'll love how easy they are to grow, and how long they'll last. Whether you're looking for something that will brighten up your home or garden, or want to add some color to your space before the snow starts falling, these little guys are a perfect choice.

So what are you waiting for? Start planting now! Let us know if you plant pansies and share with us some photos.
