Timeless Touches for a Fort Worth Classic

For our design director Shelly, inspiration for this project came the moment she saw the home. Shelly has long admired the character and charm of Arlington Heights, one of Fort Worth’s most beloved neighborhoods. The home’s age and structure offered a canvas full of potential—ready for thoughtful updates that would enhance its unique personality, not compete with it.

A Welcoming New Entry

One of the most noticeable changes was the staircase. The original entry didn’t reflect the full potential of the home’s architecture. We reimagined it with a more intentional shape and finish—allowing the stairs to feel like a natural extension of the home’s design.

Every Detail Matters

Striped awnings added a punch of personality while offering shade and dimension. Copper gutters gave a polished, timeless finish that ties everything together. And every planting bed was designed with the home’s proportions in mind—highlighting rather than hiding the architecture.

Thoughtful Planting and Turf With Purpose

With a raised foundation line, we needed to balance scale without overwhelming the space. We added evergreen shrubs and boxwoods to soften the base, and selected plants that offer subtle seasonal color. The goal? Something classic and low-maintenance, but full of life.

We also installed a new irrigation system tailored to the property’s needs. With smart zoning and efficient coverage, the turf, beds, and evergreens now get just the right amount of water without waste.

The result is a space that feels cohesive, character-rich, and connected to the home itself.

Built With Intention

This project is a great example of The Cody Way in action, taking what’s already good and building on it with smart updates, horticultural knowledge, and care for the client’s long-term vision. Every project we do is about working with the character of a space and helping it shine.
